Dr. Zainab Mackie attended the University of Detroit Mercy, where she graduated in 2014. She practices general dentistry in Detroit, Michigan. She completed a 2-year comprehensive training program in Orthodontics in 2019. Her research on tobacco dependence treatment in a dental setting was published in the Journal of Dental Education in 2015. Dr. Mackie initially took an interest in social media in 2016 by sharing videos of dental procedures she found intriguing on Instagram. She quickly gained a base of followers who shared her interest in learning about the latest techniques in dentistry. She then started exploring short form videos on TikTok and has since gone viral with an enthusiastic following. Dr. Mackie is passionate about social media as it has become a means to connect, educate and evolve.
